Peter G. Viscardi is a versatile insurance consultant with broad multinational management and professional skills and experience in risk management, environmental affairs, employee safety, security and employee benefits. Mr. Viscardi serves a wide range of companies, organizations and associations with focus on risk & insurance management and loss prevention & control through Viscardi Risk Consulting Corp. and as an associate of Hanover Stone Partners, which offers a broad range of complementary specialty services in risk management. Mr. Viscardi has previously served as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young in its Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice. His recent projects have included insurance risk management program reviews, captive feasibility studies and implementation, merger & acquisition due diligence and insurance broker evaluation and selection activities.
Mr. Viscardi has over 35 years of risk management experience, including positions with Fortune 500 companies such as Arlen Realty Group (construction segment), Otis Elevator Company, Studebaker-Worthington, Inc. and Fortune Brands, Inc. (formerly American Brands).
Mr. Viscardi served as Director, Risk Management & Environmental Affairs at Fortune Brands, Inc. Fortune Brands/American Brands was a worldwide provider of diverse products and services through its operating companies including The American Tobacco Company, James B. Beam Distilled Spirits, Franklin Life, Southland Life, Acco, Swingline, Wilson Jones, Sunshine Biscuits, Duffy-Mott, Andrew Jergens, Gallaher Limited, Pinkerton's Security, Acushnet (Titleist and Footjoy), Master Lock, Moen and Aristokraft. At Fortune Brands, he was also a member of the Capital Appropriations Committee and served as a Director and Vice President of 1700 Insurance Company Ltd. He also served on the Underwriting Committee and as an Alternate Director of Corporate Officers and Directors Assurance (CODA), an independent Bermuda insurance company, from 1986 to 1993. CODA was formed by 50 major US corporations to provide a quality, alternative market for Directors' & Officers' Liability insurance. Before joining Fortune Brands, Mr. Viscardi held the position of Corporate Risk Manager for Studebaker-Worthington, Inc. and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of its captive insurance division. Studebaker-Worthington was a multinational manufacturer of consumer and industrial products including pumps, turbines, generators, valves, compressors, armaments, chain, automotive brakes and service products, lawn mowers and floor cleaning machines and insulation products.
Mr. Viscardi is currently a member of the American Management Association (AMA) Insurance & Risk Management Council, the Risk Management Committee of the Theodore Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Society of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters (CPCU), including the Risk Management and Consulting, Litigation & Expert Witness interest groups and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).
Mr. Viscardi is a member of ASTM International and is an active contributor to task groups developing standards under its Committee E54 on Homeland Security Applications. He is also a founding member of the Disaster/Emergency Preparedness Faculty Project which develops preferred practices and offers services related to emergency management. He is a past deputy member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) (1978-2001), the ACE Bermuda Advisory Board (1999-2003), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) (1980-2000), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Risk Management and Environmental Quality Committees (1990-1999), the Institute of Packaging Professionals (1994-999), the Business Roundtable Industrial Pollution Prevention Council (IPPC) (1995-1999), the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA)(1995-2005) and the National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM) (1995-2005).
Mr. Viscardi was also a charter member of the Conference Board Chief Environmental Health & Safety Officers’ Council I (1991-1999). He served on the Arkwright Mutual (Factory Mutual Company) Risk Management Advisory Committee from 1987 to 1989 and the Editorial Advisory Board of Risk and Benefits Magazine from 1987 to 1989 and from 1991-1992. He has also served on the Institutional Investor Risk Management Advisory Board (1997).
Mr. Viscardi is a seminar leader for insurance courses offered by the American Management Association and also served as an instructor in risk management and insurance planning at Southampton College, Long Island University, during the Fall semester, 2002.
Mr. Viscardi is a graduate of Hunter College where he was awarded a BA. He is also a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
Linda M. Viscardi is an insurance risk management and administrative services consultant. Her skills and experience include personal and commercial insurance analysis and negotiation, information technology design and administration, general administrative and operational management and employee benefits design and administration. She has specialized experience in creating and managing self-insurance programs and claims management information systems.
Ms. Viscardi performs client assignments as well as providing office management and information technology support to Viscardi Risk Consulting Corp. Her recent client projects have included commercial insurance policy analysis, creation of an insurance database and expert witness testimony in insurance coverage disputes.
Ms. Viscardi’s experience includes management positions within Citigroup’s Global Cash and Trade division and Assistant Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Kentile Floors, Inc. She has also served as an insurance analyst at Squibb Corporation (Bristol-Myers Squibb) and in various administrative capacities for other New York-based enterprises.
Ms. Viscardi attended the College of Insurance and received the IIA Certificate in General Insurance in 1982 and the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter designation in 1984.
